One of my earliest memories is of holding a packet of small crayons and being excited by the colours and the prospect of using them. I still feel that way about colour today and it is now combined with a passion for shape, light and shadow. I find inspiration in environments created by people. By the structures that surround us, the material items and the animals we share these spaces with. My subject matter ranges from fairground rides to bicycles through to mice, all painted in my own bold style with colourful acrylic paints.
Since becoming a Ferens Art Gallery prize winner in 2009 I have been a professional artist. I have won numerous prizes and exhibited my work across the the country in joint exhibitions and solo exhibitions.
