The plein air group or LAST MINUTE OUTDOOR PAINTING group (LMOP) is open to MEMBERS and NON-MEMBERS (if you are a non-member contact hornseaartsociety@hotmail.com to join).
Be warned, as the group title says, you will be informed at the last minute about the venue, date and time of the meeting, but the ‘last minute’ idea provides the chance at least of fine weather. The group meets for a minimum of 2 hours (you can stay longer if you like!).
Here’s a video by Steve Truelove of our most recent meeting at Sigglesthorne Church. Eighteen people turned up on a glorious day for two hours painting, sketching and generally enjoying themselves in a lovely setting (with good social distancing!).

One of the highlights of the first Hornsea Art Festival was the 4-hour Challenge at Hornsea Mere when Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year Tom Voyce re-created the TV format. The Challenge was open to participants of Tom’s workshop and anyone who wanted to join in the fun as a wild card. The judges were Tom and Heather Burton and prizes were generously awarded by Great Art and East Riding Artists.

2nd prize – Mimi Claughton
3rd prize – Larry Malkin
